Kurt, Artie - Gender stereotyping, emotions, angst, etc

One day in glee club, Kurt expresses interest in a solo that's not what he usually goes for--the kind of thing that would usually go to Blaine, or Finn or Artie--but maybe the song is a favourite or has personal resonance for him, so he says he'd like to be considered an option (not looking for another diva-off type of situation).
Only, Artie laughs at him an makes another thoughtless stereotyping comment like he did in Duets and I Am Unicorn, but because Kurt's been dealing with a lot of that this year this is the straw that broke the camels back, and he goes off on a rant about it.
I just want to see everyone's reactions and how they would deal with this--including Blaine, since Kurt had never confided in him about it (too awkward?).

He dashed out the door, leaving a sudden ruckus in his wake. The girls were chattering angrily, glaring at Artie. Finn seemed to still be stuck on the fact that his step-brother was actually familiar with a song by one of his favourite bands. Puck and Mike seemed to be talking about how to re-adjust the song so it was in a slightly higher key

Oh, this is so great. This song makes me want to cry because I was so close to ending it but I pulled through and it just touches me. Really great fill!
