Klaine a la Benny and Joon (Triggers: mental illness, violence)

Kurt Hummel is just a mechanic's son. Unfortunately, his father and stepmother died several years ago. Finn owns/runs the garage and takes care of his mentally ill brother. House keepers come and go like a revolving door. Kurt is stubborn and rude to them. Then Finn loses a poker game and ends up with Blaine Anderson as a housekeeper. Blaine is homeless and crashes on his cousin's couch.
Any filler doesn't have to follow the movie exactly, but I think "loosely based" would be really cool.

OMG I was so happy to see this on my inbox! I had to wait all day to read it, but it was worth it! I simply love everything you are doing here! I liked the little flashback, obviously there's a lot of history there. I also loved Kurt hanging around at the shop, how the guys are so nice to him and let him bedazzle everything XD I love this two boys. I know that Blaine is supposed to come along at some point but I swear I could read this as a Furt brotherly love story all the way ^_^ I think I may be addicted to this!

He couldn't bring himself to remind Kurt that Lauren Zizes had died last year. I think my heart may have died a bit after reading that. I loved their supermarket trip. Kurt being extra helpful with the peanut butter, of course! There was such wonderful interactions between both him and Finn and then Quinn. Then that last part made me feel so much for both of them!

Once home, the two of them set to putting the food away. Finn would have to make dinner, of course, as the last time Kurt tried he'd burned himself on the stove. Finn knew it wasn't an accident, no matter how much Kurt protested otherwise

Oh wow... That was a really powerful part. So short but it packed a punch! I just felt like hugging both of them. Finn is so young and to be dealing with all of this on his own is quite heavy and then Kurt is just so lost and sad and... just ouch.

Warning: Character deaths.
Burt glanced at the rearview mirror to look at the boys asleep in the back. Finn's head lolled back against the head rest, mouth hanging open, and he snored loudly. Beside him, Kurt was curled up with his knees to his chest, coiffed hair now mussed from where his head was propped up on the car door. Burt smiled fondly at the sight of them

OMG ... I don't really remember how the parents died in B&J (needs to re-watch!) but this was amazing. The boys asleep in the back and Burt being such a caring dad to them and Carole screaming and I just died.
Finn was a sweetheart afterwards and I love him to pieces for compromising on the cake!
Re: The Houseguest (8/?)akigarinOctober 17 2011, 16:33:55 UTC
Cameron only lived a block away, which was great because Finn was getting a little tired of riding around with what looked like a bubble-headed alien in the passenger seat of his car

a/n: Blaine's probably not going to be much like Sam but will have his own canon quirks to work with. Sorry about the deleted post-I copy/pasted wrong

The introduction of Blaine was equal parts Sam and Blaine. I think I'm gonna like him. I continue to be completely in love with the brotherly bond in this story :) Finn is so protective and yet still so Finn. Kurt is a beautiful mess and my heart hums along with his peanut butter filled mouth.

I spied a wild Blaine in the car.
Jimmy's a bit of an ahole but this was to be expected given that he just gave away his own cousin on a game of poker!
Another wonderful update!!!

The wild Blaine is an elusive creatures, lured from its hiding spot by Katy Perry tunes and the appearance a certain countertenor.
