The author can decide how, but Sebastian finds out that Kurt has a very sensitive peanut allergy. Thinking this is a perfect opportunity he spikes a slushie with peanut oil and nails Kurt with it, consciously timing it so some will get into Kurt's mouth.
He had expected the anaphylactic shock, but he hadn't realized Kurt's throat would constrict so far he couldn't breathe. He also hadn't realized how easy it would be to run away from a dying man.

"Where's your epipen?" Sebastian asks as he searches the pockets of Kurt's jeans and vest. The 911 operator had mentioned something like that.
"Home," Kurt means to say, but it comes out as a breathy "hoh" sound.
Sebastian feels defeated. And sad. And desperate. But mostly scared.
"I'm sorry," he says frantically. He grabs each side of Kurt's head and makes sure that their eyes meet. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't mean - No, Kurt look at me." Kurt's eyes had started to gaze at something behind Sebastian's head. His eyes flicker back to Sebastian's. He looks just as hopeless as Sebastian feels. "The ambulance'll be here," Sebastian says. "You'll be okayKurt chokes out something, but at this point his breathing has gotten too reedy and thin ( ... )

He runs again when he finally parks his car in his parent's driveway, all the way up to his room.
Sebastian is breathing heavily, and he paces around his room, not knowing what to do now. A million thoughts run through his head, but there is one sentence in particular that stands out.
You just killed someone.
Sebastian doesn't know when he had started crying, but his face is a wet, snotty mess.
Sebastian takes a couple of deep breaths and sits on his bed. He rubs his face with his hands as he tries to calm down. Kurt would be okay. He is nothing, if not a fighter. Sebastian even realizes that.
A knock at the door startles Sebastian out of his thoughts. "Sebastian?"
Sebastian inhales a deep, silent breath and exhales just as quietly. "Yeah, Mom?"
"Are you okay?" his mother calls through the door. "You sound upset."
"I'm fine," Sebastian says coolly.
"Could you at least open the door?"
"I'm busy," Sebastian says harshly.

Sebastian sinks back into the cushions. Could his parents tell just from the look on his face? Did he even have a look on his face?
"Kurt is currently in a stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery."
The tension in Sebastian's shoulders significantly lessens. He would cry out in relief, maybe start singing out of joy, but he doesn't want to raise his parents' suspicions. He instead lets out a silent breath of relief.
"The Hummel-Hudson family has refused to comment on the situation, but Burt Hummel has released the following statement: 'No one pushes my family around, and we're gonna find the bastard that did this.'""Poor Kurt," Sebastian's mother comments. His father nods in agreement ( ... )
