Kurt is the cute boy that's always at the cafe Puck (or Mike/Jesse/Blaine/Sam lol) goes to. Puck tries to make conversation with him a few times, but Kurt just ignores him. Or so Puck thinks. Turns out, Kurt is deaf. Cue Puck learning random signs (this totally gets Kurt to smile, which he rarely does). Mercedes or Rachel is a waitress there and clues Puck in. Also, she threatens to chop his balls off and feed them to him if he hurts Kurt.

Limo, Ohio, the middle of fucking no where. He couldn’t believe he was back in Lima after making his escape just two short years ago. He sighed, there was nothing he could do about it, his sister needed him and their mother was currently drying herself out in a rehab. Sarah Puckerman was fifteen, old enough to stay on her own, but still in need of adult supervision. Somehow, that got translated to Puck coming back to his hometown

He quickly forgot about the kid and went back to his paper. Another hour later, he also packed up, waved to Mercedes and left. The next day, he headed back to the café. It was quiet, it had internet access, and it wasn’t his house. He was almost done with his paper and continued to work on it. He would look up as patrons entered and left and nodded at a couple that he recognized

Puck spent the better part of the next two days on an American Sign Language website. He learned some random signs, how to fingerspell, and most importantly, the phrase “I’m still learning, please slow down.” He also googled etiquette
