Kurt realizes that helping people makes him feel better than stardom ever could. He considers being a GP, but close proximity to festering wounds and oddly coloured bodily fluids are not exactly his thing. So, he becomes a psychiatrist. He open shop in Lima, which only has one other psychiatrist to its name. He's doing quite fine, until a patient is sent to him from the other psychiatrist, who is retiring. The patient is one Dave Karofsky. Kurt really has no interest in helping his tormentor with his issues, and it's a huge conflict of interest. However, he's the only current practising psychiatrist in Lima, so turning him away means leaving him to deal with his problems by himself. Reluctantly, he agrees to see him.
