So I want this to be an AU where Blaine always attended McKinley along with Kurt. Blaine has always had a crush on Kurt though they're not really friends. They know each other but not really well and Blaine admires Kurt from afar. Neither of them are particularly popular, Kurt still gets bullied and Blaine has a small group of friends and is left alone by the bullies

Blaine Anderson was excited to start high school. Not only was he going to be taking classes that he wanted to take (he would never forgive whichever administrator decided putting a bunch of preteens in a wood shop with lots of sharp, potentially deadly tools was a good idea), he was finally going to be in the same school as some of his best friends. Because of how the school district was zoned, he went to one middle school, while Jeff, Nick, and Wes - who all lived one street over - went to another. There was only one high school in Lima, though, so they would all be in the same school for the first time.

At 7:15 Monday morning, Blaine met them at the corner of his street to catch the bus.

“What are you wearing?” Jeff asked, looking Blaine up and down while they waited

He made his way quickly but quietly to the desk and sat down. Blaine noticed that he was the boy from earlier that morning, the one who had been hit with that slushy. His hair was damp and slightly disheveled, and he was sporting a scarf that Blaine was certain he hadn’t been wearing that morning. He could see an odd-shaped red mark on his light blue button-down shirt, peeking out from underneath the scarf

The teacher actually started teaching during the second half of the class, and Blaine knew immediately that it was going to be one of his hardest classes. The woman seemed nice enough - a lot nicer than his English teacher, that’s for sure - but it looked like they were going to cover a lot of pretty hard math (or, well, hard for him

He swallowed and managed to grab the seat directly behind him again, thanking whichever deity made that day possible. The teacher told them that she’d let them talk today, since she doubted they had much homework yet, but to take the opportunity as a treat.

Blaine considered trying to start a conversation with Kurt, but when he reached into his bag and pulled out a book, Blaine sat back and decided to get a start on his math homework. Lord knew it would take him long enough.

Of course, it took even longer with him pausing every thirty seconds to admire the way Kurt’s biceps emerged from the sleeves of his shirt, but he did actually manage to complete the assignment by the time the bell rang.

Blaine followed Kurt out of the classroom - dear god, that ass - and his heart started racing when Kurt started along the same path to his French classroom. He berated himself when Kurt turned into the men’s room, because sharing yet another class with him really was pushing his luck. He shook his head and sighed. He had barely even heard the

The next month or so of the school year went pretty much the same way as the first day. It was a little calmer, since Blaine didn’t have to scope out the seating situation before every class, but other than that, he still spent half of his day staring at the back of the head of one Kurt Hummel.

Well, at least when he wasn’t staring at his arms or ass.

He honestly was just relieved that no one had called him out on the amount of staring he was doing, or the amount he wasn’t paying attention to his teachers, for that matter.

Except for Wes. “You’ve got it bad,” his friend informed him one day in late September when he sat down across from him at their lunch table. By that point, he had accepted that he hadn’t just missed Kurt that first day and that they didn’t have the same lunch period. Not that he would have done anything had he found himself sharing another period with him, but well, he was definitely nice to look at

Then Kurt was making his way to the front of the room, and Blaine couldn’t have removed his eyes from the slight bounce outlined by the jeans if his life had depended on it. Kurt turned around when he reached the white board, and Blaine thought he was going to die right there when he realized that the jeans were just as tight on the other side

Blaine had a hard time falling asleep that night. He lay in bed for a while, thinking about what he had going on the next day, but once he got to the dinner time, he let his thoughts wander back to earlier that day

It was like that day of the history presentation had opened the flood gates. Any day when Kurt wore anything even mildly provocative, Blaine found himself squirming in his seat throughout half of his classes, trying desperately to will himself to stop staring at the boy in front of him and focus on whatever material the teacher was presenting

That night found Blaine in bed, unable to sleep and horny. He palmed himself through his boxers, biting his lip to keep from moaning loud enough for his family to hear him. He quickly grew hard under his hand, and he kicked his boxers off to get more comfortable. His eyes fluttered shut as he started to work himself just as he liked - firm grip, not too fast, not yet. He let his mind wander, thinking about well-defined chests, strong arms that held him down, a bobbing Adam’s apple

In the end, Blaine acquiesced and agreed to try out with Nick, as long as he got to pick the song. They went with Coldplay’s Viva La Vida, with Nick singing and Blaine on piano. Blaine was honestly a bit surprised that they got in - as did Jeff and Wes - since they were only freshmen, but when he eventually saw the list of who made it, he realized that being part of the school talent show definitely wasn’t one of the more cool things that could be done at McKinley.

On the day of the show, the first two rows in the auditorium were roped off for the show’s participants so that they could easily slip backstage to prepare when the act before them went on. Wes and Jeff were the second act on, so they started off backstage and ended up grabbing the seats to Nick’s right after they were done.

Some of the acts were surprisingly good, like the brunette girl from Blaine’s math class who sang something he recognized as being from Les Mis, but others were absolutely dismal. One guy with a Mohawk - Blaine vaguely recalled that he had been among
