Confirmed Spoiler, 3.01joyfulSeptember 17 2011, 18:06:44 UTC
I am pissed as hell about this spoiler of "Lauren dumping Puck in a flashback."
Pizes/Luck is the closest thing to a single OTP I have for Glee fandom. It's bad enough that Samcedes is being broken up by CHord leaving the show.
Whether they intended this or not, RIB are sending a really uncool message by having both Pizes and Samcedes break up. They're sending the message that big girls can't keep hot, masculine, popular boyfriends. Which is crap.
Now, this isn't a spoiler, it's a rumor I heard, so put no stock in it whatsoever. But I heard that a few episodes down the road they're going to pursue a Lauren Zizes/Jacob Ben Israel relationship. Which bothers be because I can't stand Jacob.
Re: Confirmed Spoiler, 3.01joyfulSeptember 17 2011, 22:57:01 UTC
I might puke if they do Lauren/Jacob.
What exactly do you expect RIB to do? Chord left and Ashley's role is being reduced because not enough fans like her. Keeping Puck with Lauren would mean reducing Puck's role as well. It's not like the girls are being dumped by their hot men, one moved and one is being dumped. They'll probably have Lauren say something exactly the opposite of what you're feeling because that's the way Lauren's always been. "I'm not some skinny barbie but if you want me, you chase me" that's Lauren.

I myself am pretty pissed about the Mercedes-boyfriend storyline, it sucks having Chord leave the show and Samcedes break-up, and then she meets a new man over the summer (Bubba, Shane?).
In this season and the last they've pretty much been saying that a girl can't survive highschool without a boyfriend in tow, and I think that's horrible message to send.
Re: Season 3 spoilerjoyfulSeptember 17 2011, 18:26:04 UTC
Yeah, this one bugs me a lot too. The last I heard was his name is Marcus, but I don't know.
It's interesting, last year at this time I was all conflicted over a rumor that Kurt and Mercedes were going to get involved in a love triangle over a bisexual boy named Sam. I was really upset because either way, one of them would have lost out (either the gay kid or the "fat girl") and it would have had some poor implications.
I'm glad that none of that happened, and whenever I'm upset by a rumor that isn't a confirmed spoiler I remind myself of what happened to the last rumor I believed.
However, I'm fairly certain Mercedes' new boyfriend is confirmed, which bugs me.
Re: Season 3 spoilerfoxyscullySeptember 17 2011, 23:00:07 UTC
They had plans for Samcedes(supposedly) so if they want to keep those plans, Mercedes needs a boyfriend. It's better than ignoring Mercedes' character because Chord left the show and they can't do the storylines anymore.
So is the message they send that it's fine to bully straight kids or it's fine for guys to let girls walk all over them.
S3 spoilers, attitude that makes me Grrrrr.

So far with the clips I've seen, they're treating the kids who don't know what they want to do with their lives as idiots. That's a horrible message to be sending. It's fine, in some cases preferable, not to know what you want to do with the rest of your life in high school. Being so set on one thing could actually hurt someone's chances because they have no back up plan if they don't get into their one school.

The Glee LJ groups like ONTD-Glee or Porcelain-fans. EW.com has We Got the Beat performance. Or you can try mjsbigblog.com. There's the performance, the first 38 seconds, and a Sue's corner all out.
Season 3, Episode One, watch-along threadjoyfulSeptember 20 2011, 22:32:40 UTC
Glee starts in an hour and a half. So I figured I'd set up a watch-alng thread so we can talk about the show as we watch. If anyone comments here, this thread will contain spoilers, obviously.
ANYONE ELSE AS EXCITED AS ME?
I have a feeling I'm gonna have to write a ton of Luck/Pizes fix-it fic.

*sigh* I loved it, but I also had some serious problems with it. Unfortunately I've got to run out for a few to pick Josh up from work, but I should be back in 20 minutes.
Spoilers for Season Three, Episode One Above! On Blaine Transferringtelm_393September 21 2011, 04:03:03 UTC
Anyone else think it was astonishingly stupid for Blaine to transfer to McKinley?
I mean, he's a senior. Why would you switch schools when you're a senior? He already had a happy, stable life over at Dalton, why would he just throw that away? I know the show's going to the "I can't be without you because I *love* you", but I honestly don't buy it. Kurt and Blaine are still only, what, seventeen? And also, they can see each other outside of school if they feel like it, Blaine didn't have to go to the drastic lengths of *uprooting his entire life* for a boy he's only known...what? Months. Definitely not long enough to be making life altering decisions.
And Blaine's future has obviously been totally disregarded, his education. What about his friends, and the Warblers? Good lord, the plot holes are just not working for me.
Switching to a different school, a worse school, a school he might not even be safe in for a boy that he's in a relationship that still seems to be in the honeymoon period with? Bad move, Blaine.

I totally agree.
I mean, I'm fine with the whole transfer thing as an idea, but I certainly think that there are much better ways that the writers could have gone about it.
Around the fandom, we've speculated all summer about various reasons for Blaine to transfer. His parents could have got a job in the area (before we knew about Sam's reasons for transferring), he couldn't afford Dalton any longer, or maybe he wanted to come to a public school for himself in order to confront his own demons from his past. Other reasons came up as well, but those came to mind as favourites, and ones that seemed fairly plausible as well.
As someone who likes Blaine a lot, I'm happy at the concept of his transfer, however I just think they could have handled it so much better than they did. It was the one thing that really angered me about the episode, which was otherwise very, very good.
