+1. on another show lines like that could be taken as casual, uninsulting jokes between really close friends. but since the narrative of glee frequently makes kurt's effeminacy a bad thing or something to be ridiculed those lines just make me cringe.

online - X-Files
offline, Grease was the first media I was really obsessed with but I was in a fandom with like only my 3 other friends in the neighborhood. We wrote fanfic, tho. :)

I started getting fannishly obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the 5th grade, and had a few notebooks of bad handwritten fanfiction. When I was 14ish, my sister introduced me to the world of Harry Potter fanfiction via shoebox, but she was a little late because I'd gotten into Star Trek: TOS fandom a few years before that. So all of those, sort of jumbled together. I first published fic in HP fandom, but I was reviewing fic for Star Trek: TOS before then.
Fandom you WISH you were involved in

Inspired by the above thread, what fandom do you wish you had been actively involved in but weren't b/c either you didn't watch/know about the source material, or you were too young, or whatever.

Game of Thrones, Dr. Who, Sherlock
I haven't finished the GOT books and I don't really know where to start when it comes to getting into the other two because I'm really not a huge fic reader and would rather be into them for headcanon and stuff.

I am still so so so so so so sad that I got into Stargate Atlantis just as it was coming to an end. ;________________; all my McKay/Sheppard creys. I mean, I also am sad that I didn't get into SG1, but really, that fandom was before my time. I do still read fic for both of those, of course. There's a lot of fantastic longfic for Stargate. And Battlestar Galactica, but tbh I'm not sure I would have been able to handle it.
I would also love to get into Merlin, Lost Girl, and some others but I just don't have time! (to watch the shows)

is this in reference to a specific fic, or just in general?

basically in general, but if you're making a list, I definitely have some contributions

this article has some good points but i'm side-eying them so hard for this:
Kurt Hummel can almost be interchanged with a heterosexual girl, because he’s that effeminate
