As Election Day Approaches

As election day approaches, I think there are some candidates running that you all should be aware about:

Seldom have I heard an ad for a senate candidate so inspiring.

Seriously. Learn about the candidates that are running and vote.

Even if you hate everyone that's running, take the time to enter the polling station, sign in, ask for a write in ballot, and write in "I hate you all, I'm voting for my cat".

Seriously, all that staying home does is reinforce the politicians' notion that you don't care what they do. So they pay attention to those who most clearly care, the lobbyists and campaign contributors, those who care with cash.

We, the people, need to be louder than the lobbyists. On November 7, votes count more than dollars, so make sure you are ready, willing and able to put your vote in.

Even better, see if you can volunteer to help out at the polls, most areas are desperate for more people to help. The more good eyes are involved in the polling and counting, the harder it is for vote blocking, miscounting, and other questionable or corrupt election practices that have plagued our country with renewed vigor over the past several years. Check with your local Board of Elections for details on how to help.
