I think I've discovered part of why I've never really been in a media--especially TV--fandom before Supernatural. It turns out I suck at watching TV. I have no idea when anything is on. Unless it's Supernatural or Friday Night Lights, I can barely pay attention to anything on the screen with my full focus for more than 20 minutes. Once a commercial ( Read more... )

Ugly Betty has not appealed to me at all. I don't know why. I suppose part of it is that Thursday is so jam-packed already. I feel like that's one I'll wait to catch up with on DVD eventually.

Downloads have completely spoiled me for regular TV. Also, it doesn't help that I get terrible reception and limited channels without the satellite.

Oh, my dear - you are not alone.

People alternately scoffed at my taping of soap operas (at one time 11 of them) and marveled that I was able to watch them all. Ahhh, the power of the FF button! Presently I have a hard time watching them "live" in the afternoons because I can't skip through the commercials or the annoying storylines and actors

Oh, I have yet to see any of the new shows. I've been meaning to check out Gossip Girls, Bioinc Woman and Cane looks interesting (mmmm, Jimmy Smits) but I've been going to bed early the last few days and have missed the 10:00 shows that piqued my interest

I would like to say I'm excited about Private Practice, I loved Kate Walsh on Grey's but eh, I'm kind over the McDoctors (Oh, but have you seen Sara Ramirez's milk ad - vavavavoom!)

I wanted to watch Cane, but, again with the totally spacing on when it was on. Gossip Girl seems fun. The second ep was way better than the first.

I dunno about Bionic Woman. I was a huge fan of the original (had the doll and everything!), but this one doesn't thrill me so much.

Haven't seen Sara's milk ad (and didn't even realize she was on Grey's. Of course, in my world, there is only one show on Thursdays at 9 pm. ;) )

Sara's Milk Ad

Part of the text of her ad: "Studies suggest the nutrients in milk can play an important role in maintaining a healthy weight."

Awesome! 'cause girlfriend has serious curves! (not unlike a mutual fave of ours) ;o)

heh. for some reason, I never even thought about the fact that when I watch Spn, there are no commercial breaks.

I don't mind the commercial breaks on SPN when I'm watching live, because I'm usually either IMing with Liz or Missy or Lesa saying "!!!!" or I'm liveblogging my episode reactions.

But if I catch a repeat with commercials? Drives me insane!

DVR Baby! I find that when I watch Live TV I automatically pick up the remote and hit the FF button, only to be disappointed when the show does not zip through the commerials.

A friend of mine told me to put the TV on the channel you want to watch and hit pause just befoe the show starts. You can then putter around for about 20 minutes before you begin to watch the show. This way you can FF through the commericals and still see the show in less time. I did that last night with the bionic woman. It worked well.

Ah, well, before one can have a DVR, one must have cable. I have neither of these things. One day, I will, but that day won't be any time soon. ;)

So far, my favorite new show is Dirty, Sexy Money, which I TiVo'd and really enjoyed. I'm with you on Journeyman, I TiVo'd it and didn't have to watch commercials and I barely made it through, so if I had to sit through commercials, I don't know if I'd stick with it. As it is, I'll probably keep it on in the background, cause it comes on after Heroes.

I hate watching things on my computer, so I'm so glad I have TiVo, I get to watch so much more than I would normally get to, just because I don't have commercials. And wow, the fast forward comes in handy during Days of Our Lives when I don't want to watch certain people!

Someday, I will have TiVo. Just no day soon.

I liked some things about Dirty, Sexy Money. I definitely need to see how it settles in.

I feel like now that I have an idea of what's supposed to be happening during Journeyman, it will be more enjoyable to watch, but they really took their sweet time outlining the premise. And I kinda hate the wife. Her mouth bugs me. But, like I said, I will watch a few more eps.
