Splish Splash

Wow, I wish it had kept snowing. The buckets of rain we're getting now are just downright unpleasant. When I arrived at work, I was overheated from wearing too-warm clothing (the brain has difficulty adjusting from dressing for 15-degree windchills and snowstorms one day to 50-degree slop the next) and soaked from my knees down. Yuck ( Read more... )

Your first paragraph? Big, fat "ditto" from me. I am currently not wearing socks, but at least these shoes are dry. Of course, now I'm freezing since I've cooled down from the commute. I swear, my office is in the tundra. WOE.

Wet feet are really one of the most unpleasant things ever. Plus, because I could not properly guage the level of cold or the level of wet I would encounter today, I am wearing tights, so I can't get out of the wet feet. :(

I want an old-fashioned sick day. Where you lie on the couch with a comforter, and your mom brings you chicken soup, and you nap in between bizarre television shows that you had no idea were on, because you aren't ever watching TV in the middle of the day.

*snuggles*

The end of the writers' strike is one ray of sunshine to brighten February, at least.

Thin as a pinprick, but very bright! Of course, we won't see the benefit of it until April or May, when we'll already be happier, but that's okay. I guess maybe Jon Stewart and all the other late night shows will have writers back really soon--maybe by tonight? That's happymaking.

FNL can't be cancelled. Besides the fact that it's one of the best shows on television, Aletha and I can't visit the set if it's not renewed. :(

I know! I thought of you guys as soon as I heard they weren't filming any more this season! The whole time I was in Austin in mid-January, I kept thinking about your trip. I will be extremely bummed for y'all if you can't go. :(

What happens with that, though? Do you know? Do they offer you another show? Obviously, they aren't going to revoke the donation. Do you all just resign yourself to the donation for the donation's sake? (This is all ENTIRELY HYPOTHETICAL, of course! You are totally going to get to take your trip!)

I *think* it just becomes a donation for donation's sake. Aletha may know more about it, I know she was attempting to get information for tax purposes, anyway. It would be nice if NBC offered us the option of visiting a different show, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen. We'll just have to wait and see.

Aw, thank you, babe. I just hate whining, and it's all I seem to do lately. But, that's February for you, I guess.

I'm just trying to keep my eyes on the prize to keep me going through this dreck. I swear, there are so many amazing apartments you and I should be moving right into! We need all the amazing job vibes in the world focused on you. *focuses*
