I really liked this ep. Cas was in rare form, and I dug the explanation for why Dean wasn't effected (affected? goddamn, that's the one I always get wrong). I mean, he came back from Hell, and all that was said was that he was raised up, not that he was brought back to life, right?
It's a monologuing Horseman of the Apocalypse! I swear, I can't thank The Incredibles enough for introducing that term into the vernacular. I love it.
And I haven't read Revelations in a long time, so I don't know if they are going in order. I know Death is last, though. Anyone want to take bets that Death shows up driving a beat up white Pinto? Er, although I just looked it up and Pestilence is supposed to be first, not War. Meh.
I adored Jensen's last moment. I was wondering if maybe perhaps maybe God has been waiting for Dean to believe in Him before showing up.
I have a sneaking suspicion they're setting up Dean's "dead inside" to have something to do with Death being raised (slightly) off camera and then ignored. I think it was Donna who wondered about Dean's Famine immunity being tied to his "hole inside" issues from last season, but I'm not buying that, either. There IS the fact Dean's kept hold of War's ring ever since...and since Show made that bit up out of whole cloth and did NOTHING to explain in that ep or the later related one (two, now,) so I'm REALLY hoping it comes up with Pestilence and/or Death when those come into play. If the rings just end up being a Gamble-esque Plot Point, I'll be extremely irritated.
I like Splifford's theory on God waiting for Dean to believe. Show has not come back to Dean's amulet yet, either, and Cas doesn't seem to be doing much God-seeking of late.
