I should know this, but I'm drawing a blank: What is the cut-off date for the SCA?

I need to know if some of my sources are out of period, specifically The Closet of Sir Kenelm Digby and Gervase Markham's The English Housewife.

What I understood from my early days in the SCA was 1600 AD, or the death of Elizabeth I of England (1603.)

1600 is the end date. No start date.

Depending on how far after 1600 your source is, you may be able to make a case for using it, in conjunction with other sources, or if there is a reasonable supposition that things wouldn't have changed between 1600 and whenever your reference is dated.

It USED to start with the Fall of Rome (circa 530 AD or thereabouts?) I for one was glad when that start date was eliminated. So much fascinating ancient history to explore. :)
