I've noticed that I do that too- when I'm busy, it leaves me with less time to notice that I'm lonely, and depressed, and although I'm not "I-want-to-slit-my-wrists" depressed anymore (thank you, jebus.), it's still "I'm-gonna-be-lonely-for-the-rest-of-my-life" (Thank you, Rhett Miller) bad.But hey! Haven't cried myself to sleep in.. months. Awesome. Go, me.
You go make money, and while you're there, make me a sammich.
It's dawned on me recently that I spend so much time working that I'm left with little time to think about anything else.
Ah. Eating, breathing, and bathing in one's job. I can relate, although not currently, thank goodness.
This is so disgusting to me. I'm working my ass off to sustain my life which only seems to consist of me working my ass off...
I argue that this is a societal problem. As a whole, people in North America are too afraid to demand better quality of life in exchange for their labour. In the past three years, the EU has lowered their work week to something like 33 hours/week from 35 while Canada has raised the number of hours you must work before collecting overtime from 44 to sixty-six.
