What I did away from Wacken this year

Returned from Cumbria this evening and had a great time.

On Monday night, Emily and I stayed in New Hall Hotel in Birmingham. The place is about 800 years old and we had a really nice room with a 4 poster bed, 3 piece suite and a view looking over some stone dragons. It was the nicest place I've ever stayed in. Yeah, it's a shame the only week I could have made it to Cumbria happened to collide with Wacken or else we could've met up. I actually drove through Brampton to get to Lanercost Priory, it's really cool you used to live in a castle near there. The Boardroom was a fine pub indeed. BTW how was Wacken this year? Seems strange to miss it for the first time since 2004.
