In more seriousness, I'm having a lot of trouble following your lj. The posts seem to be written for an audience more specific than those people who've friended you.
Does the server involve anything unusual? It sounds like a typical server application, although having never written one I'm sure that's still plenty horrible.
My LJ is a location for me to write about and/or vent about life situations as they occur, as well as for reflection on what I'm working on project-wise. Lately, I've been very project-oriented and so it's not surprising that it's difficult to follow.
The server is largely just a set of concurrent databases that need to be accessed and updated in specific groups, and the system needs to distribute requests across a lot of machines to do so. Since I don't know much about the access/request server set that is sister to it, so for the moment I'm wandering in the dark.

Sure, your LJ is yours (hope I didn't sound like I was complaining; I was just wondering who "we" are).
"A lot of machines"? Is that because this is hosted on some cloud service, and they can stick each database wherever they want? I'm not at all familiar with how those things are set up.
