For a time, some parents were having their baby boys circumsized in order to donate the skin. The skin would then be used to help those born without proper eyelids. Using infant skin lessened the chance of rejection of foreign skin.
They stopped the practice not long afterward, upon discovering that every recipient became cock-eyed.
