Finished reading Neil Gaiman's American Gods.

Somehow I feel pretty calm after reading the book, even if there was a little graphic blood-spilling. Okay, also a few bizarre sex and death scenes, but they fit well in the divine storytelling. What can I say? Neil is a great man with a great plot and an eye for the details.

Totally Speechless. I ( Read more... )

Squee! Must get a grip on Neverwhere! *a quick peek in wikipedia*

Thanks for the tip!

Ah, Good Omens :) The angel/demon duo was such a gay reading experience I'll have to grab it again from the shelf some day.

Squee^2! Sandman is a must read series - Smilla has already begun reading it, and I shall soon begin. I should only get a proper starting point - for instance, the first ones, if they appear available in the library. (Or I must collect 'em all from the bookstore! Now this is a fine present idea :) The strong visual expression has already lured me in.

Neverwhere is also available as a tv series and an (ongoing) comic book. (I have the book in finnish with Gaiman's autograph.:D )
Oh, I also have Smoke and Mirrors...wanna?

And then there's the Alice in Wonderland-esque Coraline which sounds awesome.

Sandman: The first ones should be reasonably available in the library but if you can't find the rest (or can't be arsed to buy) I might be able to lend them for you?
You do know about the Sandman 'sister' (heh) series Death?
(It has only two albums but they are frighteningly good.)

(Jos paatatte ostaa koko sarjan niin suunnatkaa suoraan sarjisliikkeeseen koska mikali ostaa useamman albumin kerralla saa todennakoisesti jonkinverran alennusta, riippuen kokonaishinnasta.)

I had a hunch that Smilla might enjoy Gaiman's work. :)

Yay! Neil has been very productive. Everything sounds so new and shiny to me. *Wants all* :)

Your hunch is very right. She's an addict.
