It looks interesting, and dear funkycanuck has asked me to do it.
So here comes.
Five fave icons
Ehm... I don't have many icons and I haven't paid much attention to things like this. But I'd say I love every icon I have, that's why I have them :D.
Five fave things in fic:
1. Good researched background information
For me it's very important when it comes to RPS. It makes the whole story more realistic. And that's why I love The Lads of Llangollen so much. The author must have put a lot of effort into it.
2. Angst
Oh I definitely love Angst. It's not just I like to see them suffer, I think it's more real than the "forever lovelove" scene.
3. Well written conversations
I admire writers who can do these. I'm sooo bad at writing conversations.
4. Humor
A lot of our boys have a weird sense of humor, and it should be there in the fics. And they have done loads of crazy and stupid things, too...
5.Confrontations
Rockstars usually have strong characters, and big ego too. I like to see them confrontate each other. Love the tension.
Five turn offs in fic:
1. Mary Sue
I want to read about the boys, ok, mostly the boys. I'd say I've read some good het-fictions, but they are rare. I just can't take the cheesy "rockstar falls in love with this unbelievable beautiful girl and would risk everything for her" story. There are loads of much better written books of het-stories out there, I don't need the overromanticized fangirl fantasy. So thanks, I'll pass.
2.too perfect characters
No matter who you're writing, they are "real" people. Please write them with flaws and weakness. If your character can do no wrong then you are not writing a story about him, but a paean.
3. Bad format
I forgot to mention that? I hate it when people writes without paragraph and punctuation. I lose my patience very quick.
4. OOC
Ok, you'd say I don't know the characters you write, so I can't judge if it is OOC. It's true to a certain degree. But there's a lot of well known facts out there from which we can draw some conclusions. If you are writing about a Jimmy Page who didn't take any drugs and alcohol...sorry, pass.
And I snort when people say "I don't even really think them like this", Oh really? Then why do you use their names? Better stick to the original fics, right?
5. PWP
It could be fun for once and twice, I've done it too. But every single piece? Ehm...
Five fave types of characters:
1. Warm, outspoken, strong and funny. You see I love Robert Plant, don't you?
2. nervous and introverted, can never face their own emotions. Here comes Mr. Page.
3. guys have extremly dry humor. Haha, think about Ritchie Blackmore.
4. someone who can never catch the tension in the air, oblivious of the coming storm. I like slow people...
5. can't think of any at the moment.
