I just got my first copy of The Rocky Horror Picture show on DVD (special edition). And it's so awesome.

I tried watching this movie a few different times. I just couldn't do it, it was so bad. I'll give it another shot one day, I'm sure, but for now it just won't happen for me.

But I do know the Time Warp song. It's pretty cool and infectious.

A sweet transvestite?
I am.........in spirit anyway.

And DJ I am well aware of your dislike. I think you need to "Give yourself over, to absolute pleasure" ;D
Embrace it.

Like I said, I think it was very different from anything that had been done previously. It's like a campy-musical on acid.

The only thing I can find at fault. That could be construed as 'bad' is the plot. It's difficult to follow and ridiculous to a point that it's hard to enjoy. (some people)

But the music is so good. Performances by every actor and extra? 5/5.
I'd be interested to know what in particular made you want to switch off?

Though I suspect Tim Curry in pearls and fishnets didn't help much.

There was a plot? (kidding!)

Yeah, that really was basically the problem. It was seriously far-fetched (from what I saw) in the first place, and while that's generally right up my alley, it wasn't doing it for me. Mayhap I should just watch the whole damn thing start to finish and re-draw some conclusions.

From what I have seen of it, on the Tim Curry note, it seems that he's got a little bit of that character in every role he played thereafter, from the Butler in 'Clue' to the evil Cardinal Richeleau in 'Three Musketeers.'

I dunno. I made it through 'Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,' I should be able to make it through RHPS.
