On the assignment thing.. I know how you feel. I can't seem to get any photos done for my profolio thats due next week. I haven't even gotten one role of film. I'm not motivated which sucks, I know I can do it, but its not coming out.

yea and the worst thing is I want to go for the BFA program and we need portfolios for it and I don't think I'm going to get in with what I have now. But if I don't get in I won't have a Bachelors in Design.

You've already done photography and have a great camera and I just feel like I went from nothing and no experience to trying to be as good as the people in my class who have been working with Photoshop forever.

cheer up girl! Im sure it was great and as long as you like it thats all that matters. One project out of the many more projects you will make in your life, that one wont compare because you'll only get better from here. Besides, its the experience that counts when you're in the real world, not the grade you got on that one project. Im sure all your work is wonderful!! Its ok to be scared, everyone gets that way in life. You just need to keep your head up. If you have the drive to challenge yourself and push your limits and want to become great, you will. Mind over matter because you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to. If you have as much willpower as you say you do about your major then that is way better then just "wanting" to get a degree in Graphic Design. Having those feelings will carry you along the course of your career.

well it just feels like even if I might have more will power then alot of people in this class and even more hardworking it still doesnt matter in some areas. I guess its just the grade because it will look bad.

I guess its more that I wish I was doing something were everyone started off equal in their skill

i know how u feel in high school when i took the computer design classes all the kids we're computer elite kids who had been using all the code programs and photoshop for years and i was just a poor kid who jsut had gotten a computer a few years before and had no idea about things like making web pages my stuff was so obsolete and worthless compared to their pages...

i had basic color backgrounds and pictures and stuff it was amazing that i actually did something even if it was a piece of shit...

not every project you'll have will look as good as others some people excel in other areas i saw your pictures and i thought they were good... u gotta keep playing around with photoshop your getting way better then before..

yea but that's high school, its different. Its understandable now that people are more advanced then me because they've had all that time through high school and maybe even extra classes in high school to do Photoshop and since I didn't know that that's what I wanted to do right off the bat I'm behind.

Yea, I guess I'm just an overachiever. And I don't even really want to do graphic design in general forever, I just haven't been able to take my animation classes, which sucks because we only have like 3 of them here.

a. I hate that too! when you see your friends page, I think that every entry on there of someone elses in that box it should be like a mini layout of theirs. I don't know if I explained that right, but thank you nonetheless :)
b. I KNOW UGHHHH. are you going to any of Fran's 6 Best Night things? If I go to any it's definitely tomorrow night at Mellow Mushroom so you should too and we can REUNITE!
c. Yea I just got discouraged today and I think I'm going to take some extra Photoshop classes during the summer so I can catch up and not be behind next year. But thanks :) It means alot coming from you
