While there's not really much to argue with that. BUT.... I think you are missing the actual message. The message isn't that of "we can have bombs and you can't". The message is "there's already too many nuclear weapons in the world. We need to stop there from being more

I totally agree. Though I think the problem I have with our country is the fact that we still USE the nuclear weapons. It would be one thing if we lead by example and said, "while we still possess them, we are not using them and are looking into methods of disbanding them so they do not end up in the wrong hands", but instead we say "not only can you not have nuclear weapons, but we are going to use nuclear weapons against you".
Just comes off too hypocritical. No matter how "trustworthy" we are as a nation. If I were in the other camp I would feel the same way as these countries do.
The worst part is we could be just as successful without them. We HAVE to have that ability by now...I would hope at least.
