..... or when the argument is put forth that every single murder or tragedy would have never ever happened if the second amendment was banished.

That's not extreme. It's completely rational.

I'm not saying she was right or wrong in her argument as much as I am saying that her rationalization of her belief is so extreme that it renders her point no credibility. Where as if she had said, "how am I supposed to defend myself? With a knife when he has a gun?" she would have had far more substance to her claim. Instead, she says "with paper towels?" which shows she is so stupid that she probably shouldn't be allowed to operate a gun anyways, for her own safety if not for everyone else's. lol

I bet you'll never see this gem in a liberal news paper. ;)

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25463844/

Quoted from above link:
Suicides accounted for 55 percent of the nation's nearly 31,000 firearm deaths in 2005, the most recent year for which statistics are available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

There was nothing unique about that year - gun-related suicides have outnumbered firearm homicides and accidents for 20 of the last 25 years.

Now that's not to say that 13,950 homicides is no big deal, but you have to wonder if anti-gun folks are using the numbers honestly.

Oh and 13,950 of 330,000,000 is 0.0000422%. So the nation for 2005 had a firearm homicide rate of 0.0000422%. Just some numbers to chew on. To be perfectly honest, with how gung-ho our nation is I find the number lower than expected. I'm not making light of the situation, but perhaps there is less realism into the situation than both sides make it out to be.
