Anyone got any good kid-friendly meal ideas, either fish or vegetarian?

They like vegetables and salads and fish but aren't especially adventurous eaters...any meal ideas for a celebration meal (10th birthday) would be much appreciated.

Thanks!!

amazingly delicious yet simple recipe from this month's Cook's Illustrated:

Roasted Green Beans

Pre-heat oven to 450 (Farenheit), and move rack to middle position.

Toss a pound of green beans (stem ends snapped off) in a tablespoon of olive oil (if there's going to be more than 3 of you, you might want to toss 2 1bs of green beans in two tablespoons of oil...)

Cover a baking tray with aluminum foil

spread the oiled beans on the tray in a single layer, and sprinkle with salt

bake for 10 minutes

remove from the oven, and move the beans around a little

put back in the oven for 10-12 minutes, until they are kind of shriveled and have brown spots.

add a little pepper to taste.

serve warm.

they are *so* *good* prepared this way.

have fun with your family!

love,
me

If I was 10 I would want cupcakes and lots of 'em! How about make your own pizzas? You can do them on english muffins and put out the toppings for them to do themselves and then pop them in the oven (easy and very kid friendly). I've also had good success with bean burritos with all the stuff put in separate bowls (tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, sour cream etc...) and they can put it together themselves. Not very fancy but definitively kid friendly. Are they coming over to your place?
