** I've been on a popslash kind of mood lately. Reading some of my favorite stories from the fandom and remembering why I loved it so much. There were so many gifted writers and amazing stories. Case in point, this. Live from the Apopalypse by nopseud, an absolutely epic adventure about Nsync after the world ends. It's a wonderful tale that manages to ( Read more... )

nopseud's story is made of so much awesome.

Fannish migration is always interesting to observe. A lot of people I hang with in bandom are old popslashers and it's fun to have that history.

I was sort of discussing favourite characters in different fandoms recently. Mine are Chris and Mikey, and there doesn't seem to be similarities beyond the strong sense of family.

I haven't been that active in my earlier fandoms, but it's always nice to see familiar names in new fandoms, it feels like running into old friends. It's happened to me a lot in bandom, with all the popslash people I'd lost track of.

My favorite characters are JC and Brendon. I do get a similar feel from them, they're both very very musical for one, and there's a certain way they're characterized that I feel ends up pushing the same buttons for me.

I have types too, like in my shows, I always like the characters that are damaged, but try to hide it and play brave, like Brian in Queer as folk and Dean in Supernatural. It's almost a kink of mine. My brother actually laughs at me about it, because I'm terribly predictable.

I guess Brendon and JC are more like exceptions to my type, but similar between them. And from My Chem I love Gerard and Mikey, they're family in every sense of the word and that gets me every time.
