People (as a species) just keep on giving me reasons to loathe and despise them ( Read more... )

As you may well know, it's local news for me (it's just a few miles from here)

Sadly most dogs round here aren't kept as pets, they're kept as weapons or to pose with. Hardly anyone treats their dogs properly, so it came as no surprise to me. They don't obey the law over keeping them on leads and out of children's playgrounds so we have to use the local park with caution. I've had dogs jump at me countless times when out running (even where they're supposed to be on leads) and the owners have done nothing. The pavements and parks are littered with turds even though there are bins everywhere. There are worse and sadder stories I could relate but I don't want to upset you or anyone else reading!

It's another world of dog ownership, honestly :-( :-( Nothing like how dogs are supposed to be cared for.

What you've said before about the types of dogs / owners in your area makes me even more worried about why this individual has this type of dog at all. They're not fighters and can't defend themselves well (put it this way, I wouldn't live where you do if I had Dandelion...), and it would just be so vulnerable on so many levels. x

Yeah, it does seem odd. I don't see many dogs like Dandelion round here I have to say - they're either the predictable Staffies or other pitbull-related breed, or Alsations.

Maybe this dog owner was a bit stupid and didn't realise they're not a fighting breed? If he's stupid enough to kick a dog..

Go down the road 5 miles to Greenwich and the park is full of lovely dogs of all sorts of breeds. It's just the area round here that's grim.
