I've decided that in order to be happy and fulfilled, I need to keep my imagination alive and well.
That being said, I need book recommendations! I am trying to decide which book to read next by Neil Gaimon:
American Gods
or
Neverwhere

I've been recommended Jeannette Winterson by at least 3 people at this point, but everyone is cautioning as to where ( Read more... )

I like Neverwhere better, but in a sort of preteen gothy way. American Gods is probably better, but I'm just so partial to cheesy Neverwhere that I think it pales in comparison.

I will read Neverwhere and we can talk all about it. Also, soon I will be done with Buffy and I think we should do something to celebrate. Marathon? Talk-fest ala the one we had at Red Rock Canyon Grill?
ALSO I left my dress at your house. Again.

i was so disappointed with american gods. i was in a class that read all the icelandic sagas and everyone raved about this book. but it's lame. the characters are cheesy stereotyped. and you'd think, for all the norse gods wandering around and interacting that the plot wouldn't be so dull. there's a few interesting characters but he spends more time on the uninteresting ones.

I just bought "Oranges Aren't the Only Fruit". I like it, very dark situation told through the comically sweet voice of a little girl. Definitely my thing.

Aw, thanks for the input, Lizz! I just bought Neverwhere but I will probably borrow American Gods at some point.

American Gods has more grammar errors than I thought humanly possible. I was incredibly disappointed, and I didn't find it all that compelling.
