I read this once, then I read it again to be sure, and, oh, I love the ending! I know it's kind of bizarre to speak of a story with character death (in more ways than one) on this level as a happy story, but I do think it is, for a given quality of happy. It's the best possible ending in all the circumstances.

However, I am still heartbroken over Hibird. (This may be due to the fact that I suspect he had the most ignominous ending (stoned! to death!), despite the fact that the way Chrome and Tetsu met theirs is not disclosed).

I think I could exhaust the wordcount of a comment on telling you what is beautiful and what I liked about each of of your paragraphs. But I also think that this is the sort of story that should be, for the lack of a better word, savoured over a cup of tea and an hour to find all the right words for me to tell you what exactly what I loved about it. Kick me hard if I don't do it in the very near future ( ... )

I love how you manage to get my stories on a sort of instinctive level, and can pick up on what I had in mind when I wrote them. This is really a love story in disguise. It's also the longest (fictional) thing I've written and definitely one of my favourites, so much so that I didn't know how to summarise it in a way that would do it justice without sounding obnoxious. I do think it's best read slowly because the imagery is packed and it's filled with little happenings that are condensed and ambiguous.

Thank you for getting through it! I've read and re-read this so many times during the writing process that it's all one note in my head and I worried that I overdid it on more than one level. It's an incredible relief that you don't appear to think so.

Hibari! When feudal requested this pairing, I was anxious horrified, which explains why this is entirely in Mukuro's perspective. I like Hibari, and it's a combination that I can actually envision, but boy is he a tough nut to crack ( ... )

... !! I didn't quite know what to expect when I clicked this link from somewhere, but--- ah, that was very lovely. A quiet, nearly whimsical piece, I think, and despite being very sad, I found the ending suitably happy.

Ah, hello there! I'm one of the many people on your f-list; you don't have a pinned post so I wasn't sure where to introduce myself. I'm Andy, nice to meet you. :)

And thanks very much for the review.

Really? I'm not sure where you travelled here from then. XD I only posted this today so it seems strange that you got here from someplace else.

I had to read this a few times, but oh. It's like you went into my head and pulled all the things I love out of it, then put them into this piece of writing. (for example, the name Carmine is one of my absolute favorite names ever) I think I've said this before, but your writing is kind of like Impressionist art. ♥ Which, incidentally, I also happen to love ( ... )

What a coincidence - I like Carmine because it's versatile and pretty: boy/girl, Latin/Italian (and even features in one of the best books ever, Good Omens). You know, your analogy is really apt, seeing as Impressionist pieces tend to become fuzzier the closer up you get and when I write I think more in pictures than words. XD

I'm so glad Hibari didn't make you want to run for the hills. As owner of such a gorgeous shrine I consider you somewhat of a guru so... self-test is passed! Being something of a naive dreamer, I love the idea of romance in and through ordinary events, but I worried that since it's not stated explicitly, the kiss would appear out of the left field. It's gratifying to hear you say it's subtle, haha.

Thank you and you're welcome! I hope you enjoy the rest of the holiday. ♥
