THE EAST WEST PLAYERS

The East West Players have sent an letter to Paramount Picture to voice their concern over the white-washing of the cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The letter is in pdf format and can be read from here.

But who are the East West Players? Many of them lent their voice acting talent to The Last Airbender animated series,

Dante Basco is ZUKO?!!!?????!!!! I love him, I really do, he's great. ...but I will ALWAYS think of him as Rufio in Hook.

But the play sounds good! :D :D Wish I could go!

YES HAAHAH! He was Rufio as well - it's hilarious how many people know his as Rufio! I think I've only seen that movie once, LOL.

I KNOW! I totally want to go too - I generally don't care for plays, but I've been lucky enough to see some that were fantastic and this sounds like it would soooo be!!!

It's a beautifully written letter, innit? XD

I'm guess that age prevented Basco from playing Zuko in the movie, or perhaps disinterest? Since they haven't (as far as we know) asked any of the voice actors to reprise their roles in the movie, I'm guessing that it's simply a venue the movie producers chose not to take. :D

AHAHAH OH LA LA LAND. It's always freaked me out a little too. XD
