Wordpress.com vs Child Torture Victims
Yeah, I can't believe I had to write that out either. Seems WordPress.com in all its corporate neutrality has taken to taunting a survivor or child torture by arbitrarily giving and taking away her right to speak out...then blaming her for not following Wordpress.com's ToS. So classy and mature, innit?

If it's not bad enough that she has to face the people who did this to her, but now she has to be tormented by Wordpress, like. WHAT. REALLY.

Damned cowardly shills.

Yeah, it's so...disturbing and disgusting and everything else. I wrote them last time of course, and will do again once I get a teensy bit less angry and can perhaps be civil. Right now am still sort of stuck on HEY LET'S HOLD YOU DOWN AND DO THAT TO YOU AND SEE HOW YOU LIKE IT, ASSHOLE which would be satisfying, but not really helpful. :p

Thanks bb. I made this post public so anyone can take a look - but yes! Fully copy-and-pasting this post awesome, thanks. I'll edit my post to say that people can. <3

I think in her most recent post she says the subject line isn't needed this time around. *mwah*

You can host a WordPress blog via your own server/webhosting and they will then have no control over it (ie: they can't get into *your* server and shut it down)

Is there a way we can help by contributing server space or donate funds towards helping her set up her own site to host the blog?

I was wondering about the difference between a Wordpress hosted on one's own server vs Wordpress hosted on Wordpress. I know she's going to a safer space to put her blog (because Wordpress is just so malicious, I doubt she wants much to do with it now) but I'll still ask her if she wants to host the old WP blog on my server since I have like....tonnes of space, heh.

Thanks for the idea, bb.

I think the diff is the .com vs .org...I downloaded the Wordpress software from wordpress.org, but the blog is hosted on my own site, so they have no real control over it.

And as shitty as Wordpress.com's behavior in this may be, as a private commercial entity they do have the right to arbitrarily make the rules for how their blogs are used and censor whatever they want. :(

Good to know - sometimes I worry about racebending.com, since it's Wordpress. But it's hosted on my server so they can SUCK IT.

No, I totally agree that their arbitrary is their right. I think their outright petulance and mockery of waywardradish's concerns are completely unprofessional and unfounded though.

I did write in, but I used my own "I know how write ins go, trust me, here's why you suck!" sort of wording. Maybe she can move it, at least in part, to LJ? Have got several friends of mine to write in as well :x

Yay you're awesome luv. She has been somewhat cross-posting to LJ, but I guess the need to separate a 'rest-space' on LJ versus a 'fight-space' elsewhere is paramount - I know the feeling!
