SWEET TYRANNY

I don't want to get into the bad news that first taught me this comforting truth
about time. No matter how bad the loss ... how greatly I fail ...
time will pass.

SWEET TYRANNY
A shock; a stunning bolt
Life falters, stares
They were only words
With hollow sound
Unhear them quick

Where did this come from? :) glome December 11 2009, 04:30:32 UTC
I had to laugh when I compared the first and last lines. I was feeling really serious ... thinking hard learned philosophy and then there was the last line Ha ha ha ha.

Do you ever post on Gather? I should look for you there. I posted for a year there ... then left for about a year & have slowly gone back. I really love it. I love the format and there are lots of readers on the posts. You get to know a lot of people.

Most of my writings were posted the first year. I've just post sill stuff or articles since. It's too easy to spend too much time there.

I need to see if you've written other poetry :)

Did I write that? I only have a vague recollection, seems like somebody else. It sounds about right considering the times.

About the last line, there were times I gently contemplating "leaving it", not through any active act of self anihilation but through passive neglect. I was never serious about hurting myself and would have had no resolve to carry through any violent act but I was also aware of how one could get to that point, times were not easy. My life has and has always had too many positives to allow negativity overrule. Just had to get through some rough spots. Rough times..., if they don't destroy you altogether rough times build character. I must be buff.

I doubt that I wrote much or any other poetry. Words are not my strong suit though I tend to use a lot of them. Thanks for the invite though.
