So... Do you guys do research on magic, as well, or just tasks relating to preventing its abuse? I might be useful in the first category... Or the second, now I think it...

Actually, we're a little more broad than that.

We investigate magic, compile knowledge, and aid in promoting the awareness and responsible use of the art. If it's related to magic? We're involved with it... Or rather, we'd like to be. We don't quite have the numbers or the professionals here that exist in my world.

Right now, the guild's primary purpose here is the instruction in responsible use of magic, investigation of supernatural activities, and archival of all information that we can get our hands on.

And I do admit, I would like to speak with you in person before I give you the M.A.G.I. seal of approval. Having dealt with good and bad demons before? I know there's the vast potential for both to exist.
