and your strength is devastating in the face of all these odds

The problem is not that you need to not think, the problem is that you need to think about getting a job, and then doing it.
Once you have made the adjustment from sitting around all day watching TV to working a regular job -- a process that will be much shorter than you think -- you will feel fine. In the meantime, you have a man who loves you, a family that loves you, a good heart, a great deal of intelligence, beauty, and life.
Give it time. As Dylan Thomas, or Bob Dylan, or Bob Denver, or John Denver, said, "This too shall pass."

Look, apparently you're unfamiliar with debilitating mental illness. It doesn't "pass". It requires very intensive care and maybe, after years of trying different medications and therapies, it may ease. But I'm not anywhere near that point, and again, as you never see me, and are going purely by what is written in an online journal which you've got to know leaves out many, many parts of my life, you really can't say what I should or shouldn't be doing with my life.
I have suffered a very traumatic loss, and many experts would agree that keeping yourself from obsessing about it and replaying it in any way you can, any sort of distraction (that doesn't involve drugs or self-harm of some other sort) is healthy and necessary.
