HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!!

Considering this is such a holy day, I thought I'd bring up an issue that has been troubling me for a while now- the Terry Shaivo incident. I personally believe that it is a violation of not only her religious rights, (shes a Roman Catholic and Catholics cannot not allow food and water to be administered to them and to not believe in euthanasia,) but a disgusting representation of our country and our courts system. I have heard alot over the past few days, that the whole case should be dropped and that she should be allowed to die a "dignified death," however I do not see how being starved to death, where your own tongue will eventually swell from dehydration and you will suffocate-something Americans would not allow a dog to die like that-is a dignified, or a humane death. Though I do not personally believe in denying food or water to a living creature, I understand that some people have living wills that state that they do not want to be artifially kept alive-and I respect that. What I don't respect is that there is not enough evidence in Terry Shaivo's situation to determine if this is what she would have wanted-even though the courts have ruled there is substantial evidence, I don't think that the courts should be able to decide when it is right, in a case where there is NOT enough evidence, to allow someone to live or die. Terry Shaivo is not a mass murderer, she is not a petifial. She is simply an innocent woman left to die a cruel and unusal (am I missing something, or isn't that against the Consititution) death. Mass murderers on death roe recieved more respect than she has been given by the country's court system, and the peoples of this country. They are allowed to die in a more dignified and humane way.  I have heard this referred to as a "Republican ploy," or "Republican salnder," but please, don't be ignorant and try to make this sad case into something political. It's not- It is simply the sad, sad case of a woman being killed because she is handicapped.  Whether you agree with my views or not, please just keep Terry in your prayers- in times like these she needs and so do we all.
Comment please, I want to hear what other people have to think. Don't worry- I don't bash people with different views.
