It took a lot to get Marie to come out of her shell. For one thing, most people were humans, and at the very least, if there was the occasional mutant she ran into, it wasn't like her touch didn't hurt them. But she took it slow with Jake. Something was different with him. She didn't know what, but Marie liked whatever it was they had.
She sat against him on her couch and intertwined their fingers. "I'm glad you're stayin'." She drawled out.
