Yes they are. They can't actually make him resign but but they are basically making it impossible for him to function as the leader of his party.

And he's gone. He's decided not to carry on as leader. From what I can gather most of his mp's refused to work with him as leader.

He's being lying to the public for years now- on several occasions he has denied having a drink problem. That's what worries me.

It is worrying. It is also sadly fairly usual behaviour for people with drink problems. They can live in a state of denial of having a problem themselves. I just personally feel that IF he can handle the pressure of being leader of a mainstream political party now he has admitted publicly there's a problem he should be given a chance. I don't think he will get one though.
