That just about sums it up. Sadly I don't have a sarcastic option in my mood theme so I had to settle for irritated.

Well, you aren't alone there. He irritates me, as well.

Very interesting. There are similarities aren't there. I wonder who would be the american Tony Blair.

I think John Kerry tried to be Blair by attacking Bush's foreign policy from the right. But that didn't work, because people who really wanted that just voted for Bush. Clinton was pretty good at diffusing the right's strong suit--economic growth--but in doing so he relinquished all debate about the economy. And, once the economy was off the table, all that was left was religion, so the right keeps running on religion and winning. I think Ted Kennedy's still the best and brightest of our politicians; he's a good old-fashioned lefty (there's a link to an article about him in my last LJ post), but he's no Blair (thankfully!). John Warner, who'll probably run as a Democrat in 2008, might be a Blair. We'll see. In the meantime, I feel sorry for your Labour Party. Blair was downright likable until he hitched his cart to Bush's ass.

Sadly he has a long history of making comments like that. And he is still a very powerful man.
