My prime television years were about 9 to 12 years old, I think, which corresponds to the years 1988 and 1991. I watched television before that, and after that, but those years were when I was a television watcher

I watched SO MUCH TV when I was a kid/teenager. Now I rarely do. I'm gonna disconnect my cable this month, there's no reason to keep paying for it.

Well, that was substantial. I havent't watched TV in more than 12 years. When I was a kid, I had two favorite shows -- Married with Children and Dexter's Laboratory. Other than that I don't remember much of the content that I had watched.

I don't think Dexter's Laboratory came on until I was in my 20s.
Oh wait, I just checked, it did start in 1996. Weird. Even though that was literally more than half my life ago, I still think of it as a "new development" in television.
