I'm backkk!! First Real Entry of Stephen B.! :D

*this was based on a writing assignment from my first semester as a junior at Rutgers Newark. This sort of explains how I met Stephen, although the "his perspective" part is mostly fiction because I did not know what he was thinking at the time. Loll, I'm not a mind reader after all.*

His Perspective

Boredom. Nothing can express his obvious boredom when he was sitting alone in class doing absolutely nothing. Hmm, what should he do for fun here? Well he knows that he can't draw so maybe he'll focus his attention on his phone. So he took it out, only when he took it out he realized that he has no idea what to do with it. Hmm, should he text Kyle or Jo? Nahh, there is no way Jo would even want to talk to him. Besides Joe is probably too busy taking notes in class or something to even look at his phone while he's in it. That leaves Kyle then, but what should he talk to him about? Clearly asking about his day is just so girlish and so unlike him. He should do something more masculine. He’ll send this -- "bored to death." Yea, that will get his attention.

He looked at his watch. Ten minutes has passed and so far, no response from Kyle. Also the teacher wasn't here. Hmm, maybe he's late? This is unlike the teacher, usually he's right on the dot when it comes to schedules. Perhaps he should do something then to occupy his time. But what else can he do with his phone? Hmm, should he try taking a selfie of himself then? No, if he did that it will just look awkward. Not to mention that whoever is in the back of him will probably just laugh silently to themselves while he awkwardly try to make himself a decent picture. No, he cannot have that happening. Besides he is not that type of person to be taking selfies all the time. That category belongs to Andrew, his brother, his other half who is the complete opposite of him. Unfortunately.

If he doesn’t want to do selfies, then what else can he do with his phone? He scrolled through his phone. Hmm, perhaps he should try one of these apps? Yea that is a good idea because at least then he won't have to worry about anyone responding to him or anyone criticizing him. The only thing is though, which one should I try? Let's see he has two options -- there is the note taking app, which seems super boring because he already has a physical notebook that he can actually use for class, and then there is Tetris. Didn't Jo say that he had such a high score in Tetris that he was so sure no one in their group of friends can possibly reach it? If he is guessing right it should be over nine thousand. Or maybe that's just a meme, that he found on the internet, talking to him and making lies. Anywho, he promised to himself that he will beat Jo’s score!

So he opened the Tetris app and started to play with all the blocks. Honestly though he feels like a little kid trying to solve a puzzle. Ahh well at least its only him that's playing it and no one else. A few minutes into it though, he realized that a girl has seated herself to his right. Great, just when he was trying to be alone and actually enjoying it. Well at least she's paying no heed to him. Hmm, she must be preparing for class. Girls, he will never understand them. Oh well time for games and less about girls. He was nearing the end of the level when suddenly it reads -- Game Over. Ugh, if only he had placed the rectangle over to the right side rather than the left. He hated this game he fumed. But before he can restart the game, he noticed that the girl next to him was already taking out her pen and ... wait is that a butterfly folder? No, those are just papers folded to look like butterflies. It must be her notes. Or to be more precise, it is the slides for their class. Although how she had it configured to be shaped like a butterfly, he will never guess.

He looked up over the front. The teacher still was not there, which means he still has some time to play his game for a bit. Tetris time! Swipe the block to the right, swipe the block to the left and really he feels like he’s dancing the words on his tongue, which now that he thought about sounds really weird. Seriously though this is just a game of blocks filled with movements that are non-dancing related. But wait oh no! There's a circle in Tetris. There's no circles in Tetris! The only shapes that ever appears in the game are just squares, rectangles, and crosses with different possible positions to choose from. This game must be trying to confuse him from playing. Darn it. Looks like he'll never be able to beat Jo's score after all.

Her Perspective

She went inside of the lecture hall in a panic thinking she was late for class. The door slammed loudly when it closed, causing a few heads to look over in her direction. Ugh! Could this day be even more embarrassing than it already is? Luckily for her, the few heads that had turned to her were more focused on getting ready for the lecture so she was in the clear for now. Now she just needs to find a seat and then maybe she could calm down for a bit. The thing was though, in this big lecture room of three columns and a ton of rows, where should she sit?

She had decided that her best course of action would be to just sit with a friend, preferably Alex especially seeing as he was the only one in the room that she knows of. He was also the first guy to ask her out during the first day of class, which she found completely crazy but ... well enough about that. Her love life does not need to be delved into here any further than it already is. So the thing was though, where was Alex? Normally she would find him to the left side of the room and that's where they would normally sit, but when she looked over to the left side, he just wasn't there. Great, now she really did have to sit by herself.

She is left with two options -- It's either to sit alone or perhaps she can sit with the blonde guy sitting towards the front. She reasons that he does look cute and approachable from the back so maybe she can approach him. Okay its settled then she will sit next to him. So walking in a casual manner she seated herself to his right. The blonde guy didn't even bother looking up. Not that she was surprised of course. Besides she hardly knew the guy. Still it would have been nice if there was an actual conversation going on at the moment. She’s usually not the one for silence. But he seems too busy on his phone. Maybe she should just leave him alone?

She placed her bag on the table and took off her coat and placed it on the chair. Next she took out her folders and the slides that were posted online and readied herself for class. Sigh. Without Alex this class was going to be real boring. Luckily for her though she knows that this class is not a regular class, but actually a review class because her exam was coming up for her next class. Of course its not that she needs the review. She already took plenty of notes while in class so she is pretty sure that she feels prepared for it. The thing was though, was this guy or Alex even prepared?

There was only one way to find out and she can't find out about it during class because this guy is too busy playing Tetris on his phone. So when the class has ended she she began a small conversation with him.

"Did you start preparing for the exam?" She asked.

He laughed nervously as he walked. "Nope. Not yet."

"Really? I already started mine like on Monday."

"Well not me. I do things at the last minute."

"Oh haha okay."

So it was a small start, but it was very awkward. Then again what was she suppose to expect after talking to this guy for the first time? A spark to fly? Nah, that's just fantasy ruling her head. It's best to stick to reality.
