[Klavier's droned. For good.

Needless to say, Ema's taken the discovery pretty hard. The two of them had been together for over a year after arriving within a few months of each other. If you sink into despair, they've won. Use it to drive you, instead.

... I plan to.

Just... not today. Maybe it's giving this town a small victory, but... I need a day. I'm only human.

[He'd heard the message. And had spent a while trying to decide how best to respond. He'd come up with nothing at all.]

[So... instead. He decides he should go try to find her. Not that he remembers where she lives, but as the Corvette pulls out onto his street, he realizes that's not exactly a problem. She's just down the road, out in front of a house.]

[He slows to a stop, behind her, letting the engine idle.]

[Ema hears the car pull up and turns around to see who it is. She's not surprised to find the Corvette idling there.]

Hey, Sideswipe.

I guess you heard?

[Ema turns from throwing a rock.]

...Kay.

[She glances back at the house before turning toward the younger girl entirely.]

Klavier's gone.

...Oh.

[Kay frowns sympathetically, just moving over to offer a hug.]

I'm really sorry, Ema.

[Ema accepts the hug without question. Kay's always been a good friend to her, even with the strange time difference between them.]

Thank you. I... I just need a bit of time.

The question of joy here is immaterial. The important thing is to get people home.

To get everyone home.

I know that's the important thing.

But... it's hard to keep morale when they drone the people closest to you. That's all.

I quite agree. I have lost several close comrades of late to droning. The key is to fight on in their memory, because....

We know what happens to them, now. Why we must save them.

... you have a point.

I just need a day to mourn him. Is that... it sounds weak and stupid, but I need it.
