Mr. Hughes? Klavier and I have an idea, whenever you're ready to go forward with the Smith infiltration.

Also, have you talked to a man named Cynric? He has--or had--a very interesting article that I'm sure you'd like to see.

Some of us are still damaged. Not me, of course, but some.

Physically and emotionally, I'm sure.

How's your partner faring?

[Pause.]

...

He's fine. More or less.

Glad to hear it. [She knows Sideswipe took his death pretty hard, so despite her general disdain for the guy she's honestly happy that partner-guy is doing all right, all things considered.

Maybe she should learn Jolt's name sometime.]

Do either of you need anything?

No, really. You didn't have to go out of your way to do all that.

I wanted to, though. I'm just glad you're feeling better.

You have an idea? Shoot.

It's still tenuous, but Klavier suggested creating some kind of social group that the Smiths--or at least one of them--might be socially obligated to join. A book club, or maybe some kind of fraternity. We might be able to use 1950s social norms against them.

Apparently the library only provides books considered "appropriate" to each gender, so I plan on going there and checking out a few books on social etiquette.

Not the firmest of plans, but it's a starting point. What are your thoughts?

It'd never hurt to try something. I actually have an idea myself, but it would only happen in the Fall. I'll tell you about it sometime.

That sounds like an idea. The worst that can happen right off the bat is they don't join and you can liquidate the club soon after.

I'm eager to hear about your plan when it's closer to the Fall.

I'll get started on the research, then. Assuming that whatever club we establish is coed, can I expect your membership once it's properly organized?
