Eh... Personally I'd say no. Unless it's something you really, really want to do, don't. Cause as it is, I have to take extra credits each semester to just fufill my major and minor reqirements. And as Jennie pointed out in her last entry, Studying Abroad is a great option. So think about it lots.

I wouldn't worry about trying to rush to graduate a semester early right now. Frankly, it's more important to consider what you're going to do afterwards.

Say, if you decide to graduate early so you can go abroad for a semester..then I can see that making some sense. Or if you can be (fairly) sure that you can get the type of job you want or whatever, after graduating that semester early, than I can totally see the benefits.

But doing it for the sheer sake of doing it, isn't necessarily the best choice, even if the short-term financial benefits of doing so seem pretty clear cut.

I do think you have time to figure this one out, though. You can always add more classes later or whatever. You'll make the right choice, so long as it's the right choice for you.

Good luck :)

Do it. You forgot to mention that graduating early means that you'd get cash from dad, as well as saving money. AND you won't be all that stressed, remember? You're just adding easy credits on top of easy semesters (P.S. Joey has a ridonkulously easy major). And going into the workforce at an abnormal time (January instead of June) is slightly advantageous. But Ron is right, you DO have tons of time.

Going into the workforce at an abnormal time can be a bad thing too.... Employers are not ready for you in January but they are in June. I guess it all depends on what you are doing and who you are hoping to get hired by.

Less competition in January, though.

But whatevs, pros and cons to either situation.

Exactly... it all depends on the person and the situation. :)

Graduating a semester early makes sense if you have a job lined up ready to go afterwords. If you are going on to grad school or a second degree, often the only intake is in September so you aren't gaining time there.

With the extra credit space you could take some fun classes, go abroad for a semester or use your time to get involved on campus.

You are doing economics right now.... it is all about opportunity cost!

i'm definitly taking advantage of the fun classes. i'm hoping to fill up my 20 elective credits with art classes, and i'm going to look into studying abroad, but i'm not sure how that would work out with my major (computer information systems)

and since i'm not really looking into going to far with this job-wise, i'm not too concerned with getting a great job. i'm looking into going back to school for asl interpreting. so yea.

and economics...i have trouble paying attention in that class; haven't really learned anything yet.

You don't have to decide that right now. Anyway why rush into the workforce. You'll be there for the rest of your life. Appreciate the time you have now

You've got time to decide that! Right? If you really enjoy being there, well why not? This is the one time in your life when you can actually do more or less just what YOU want to do and what makes you happy and what you enjoy... The real world, not so much. On the other hand if you really love what you studied and want to get involved with it ASAP and learn and love it even more you should get a jump start. But I wouldn't decide just now, maybe give it another year or two?
