Minnesota

So, about a month ago, Kevin and I headed out to Minneapolis for Angie's (a college friend) joining ceremony.  At first, I couldn't stop grinning when people talked because of the charming northern-Midwest-whatever accent.  You know I'm talking about, dontcha?

Anyway, we went out for a couple extra days to take a look around...I think we could've ( Read more... )

What, no MoA Aquarium visit? Not that Angie still works there.

You sound like you had more clue what to do with a canoe than my dad and I did the week before.

I miss Jen! My parents' far-flung college friends have traditional planned get-together weekends-- but, granted, most of them are financially far better off than most of us, and the only ones who don't live in PA or a bordering state are the most well-off ones of all-- but I suppose it wasn't always that way and they found a way.

I am still bummed that I had to miss the wedding of one of my own bridesmaids, though.

I like your hair in the Jen-Angie-You picture.

Yeah, I thought that maybe we should try a get together every now and then, maybe rotate locations between east coast and northern midwest. Or maybe somewhere in the middle? Might be fun to go to Chicago or something. I don't know if Angie ever comes back for the holidays, but Jen does make an appearance in Erie occasionally, maybe we can road trip sometime...although I think Liz might be having surgery recovery this year...

We skipped the aquarium because it cost as much as the one in Baltimore, which we can go to anytime, and for which I can get super discount tickets from work. :)

Thanks for the hair compliment! I was disappointed you couldn't make it, too. The more the merrier!

Maybe if I have the surgery, you people can road trip down here this year! Christine will be here planning her wedding too! Probably it'd be best for amy to stay in this area at least for this year too.

I like those pictures too! I liked Angie's cake and dress and ringbearer! Another great idea for a possible future wedding of my own--but it can't be Ashes. She wouldn't go for it. If it's Jonathan, maybe their dog?

I will have to look up the canoe stroke. I'm not sure about that now. I know you don't continuously switch sides like you would in a kayak, but I wonder if you do have to do it sometimes for steering. Maybe professionals don't. Anyway, I loved those pictures!
