i like the idea of a goal setting syllabus. maybe that would help me focus and figure what i want to do. i hope you post it when you do it (although you might not want everyone asking you about it all the time).

In a similar vein to a syllabus, I've been thinking I need to make myself a Schedule like Back in School for my day to day living. I could probably manage my time so much better. I would have a clear Do the Dishes time slot as well as a Check Email/LiveJournal timeslot, and perhaps this would remind me to include (on the fun side) Writing timeslots and (on the notsofunbutnecessary side) Clean The Bathroom timeslots. Now, if Sammy would only be consistent in his Take a Nap timeslots it would all work out much easier.

Although I do think the syllabus idea is a good one, and may very well work for you, the only thing I question is that taking a logical approach to an emotional problem will do much good. If you're repressing yourself, chances are you'll just repress yourself as you go through the syllabus. Logic and emotion/intuition often don't work well together ( ... )

Well, the syllabus is more for accountability and motivation. It's about making a plan to do something rather than just saying I'll do something. Like, I say things like, "I'm going to think about that" or "I'm going to talk to someone about this issue" and I never do because I don't feel a great sense of urgency because things don't suck. Like, I haven't been to a dentist in years because I haven't had any dental problems, but I know I SHOULD go. That will be on a different syllabus, though, called "Self-Care 101" or "Things Grown Ups Do ( ... )
