Goodbye is the hardest word to say

I can't handle this. I feel like someone cut a whole in my chest and my heart just fell out of the bottom. And my throat is twisting up like a washcloth, tension flowing everywhere

I'm faced with the same sort of goodbye this summer. How do you bring closure to something you knew would end? It doesn't make it easier and you want to hold onto it because it's been so wonderful.
