Well, it's been a week since I've granted asylum to Kratos and the Crog rebels. They seem to be making a lot of progress in the reconstruction of the abandoned city. Good ol' Crog engineering for ya. By the end of the month, it should be suitable for permanent habitation.

Oh yeah, I've been teaching them about farming, too. Oban has abundantly ( Read more... )

They should plant cherry trees.

Cherry trees? That's not such a bad idea! But ... Crogs tend to eat a lot. I don't think cherries are all that filling.

They should plant all kinds of fruit trees! It'd be delicious.

Oh, I've got all kinds of fruit trees growing in my garden! I'll definitely get some seeds to cultivate.

But he's so ... so doofy! I'm not like that ... am I? Besides, he's half-Prince. I don't have anything like that in me.

((Yes, I finished reading it a month ago, it was wonderful~ Jordan is totally in denial about being like Touchstone.))

Sabriel! Aww, that's a great book, brilliant. Nice take on death, I thought. You should read the rest of the series.

Yeah, it certainly was interesting, but I don't know if I like being compared to Touchstone or not ... What do you think? Do I really act like him?

Wait, there's more to the series?

He's a good character, there's no shame in it. Although I'd like to think you're a little less falsely subservient than he acts in that book.

Yup! Two more books, although they deal more with Lirael than Sabriel. I liked the Disreputable Dog, though, I reckon she'd be brilliant to meet.

Yeah, but he's just so incredibly ... doofy! And a kilt, really? But, uh ... Eva has always had me pretty whipped, even back then, during the Great Race.

Lireal? Who's that? I don't remember her being in the first book.

they're engineers?
what sort of machines do they make?

Uh, well, most of the technology I'm familiar with has to do with weaponry and small aerospace fighters. They specialize in advanced vibro-weaponry. Pretty powerful stuff. Can tear through even the thickest armor, if you know what you're doing.

ah, we Goblins have those too. we call them chainsaws. but they keep overheating. we're not sure what's going wrong...

Really? Well, I'm not really much of an engineer myself, so I'm not really sure how the Crogs perfected their tech. But vibroblades are just basically bulkier version of more conventional weaponry, but it vibrates at an extremely high frequency. That's why they can penetrate thick armor with ease.
