I have a clone

Eva met him. My clone. His name is Mark Wolkov. He looks just like me. He even has his hair bleached on the same side that I do. Why the fuck would my clone bleach his hair exactly the same way I do? It creeps me out.

How could they do this? I'm still alive, goddammit! They're not allowed to clone soldiers unless they've been confirmed KIA. But I ( Read more... )

seriously wtf?, clone plot, political intrigue, mark wolkov, bad days

Do they really care, honestly, babe?

Honestly? Probably not.

But if they think that they're going to get on my good side by doing something like this, they're dead wrong. Just because I'm a human Avatar doesn't mean that I've going to treat the human race any differently from the rest of the galaxy. Especially not after they pulled something like this.

Hey, I have a question. Do you use that "Avatar" line for everything? Because, don't get me wrong, I used to work for a guy that kinda had the same position, but he was completely opposite. Do you ever just go, "Jordan thinks you suck." ?

Huh?
Being Avatar, it's the only thing that makes me "valuable" in the eyes of the Earth Coalition. I'm pretty sure that's why they've been so aggressive towards the Crogs recently, because they think I'll bail out the human race if they screw up. Because I was once human myself.

Disheartening, yeah. I'm sure the thought of two of us running around sends chills up your spine.

How the hell is this amusing?

I don't care about your company and Mark ... doesn't even know about this place.

Deja vu? So, wait, you've had experiences with clones in the past?

Can't say I don't know the feeling. 'least yours weren't mass-produced to take over the world.

Wait ... so you were once ...?

Oh my God. Mass produced? I hadn't even considered the idea that ...Would Wolfram really stoop so low?

Kidnapped after defeating Orochi the first time...yeah. Luckily I escaped the facility, but they basically had what they needed anyway.

Hopefully not. That....was not fun at all.

So ... what happened to your clones? Did you ... destroy them?

Why would someone want a clone of you?

I have no idea! I guess they've decided that the whole "secret Black Ops mission" cover story was too flimsy, and so they decided to kill me off to tie up any loose threads.

Someone cloned you?

Yeah, the military. It was ... a part of the contract that I signed and that all soldiers must consent. If I didn't, I couldn't join the military.

Sounds lame. I wouldn't want to be cloned.

Well, they're only supposed to do it if you die without fulfilling your contract with the military. Basically, it's so that those "good genes"--which made you such an excellent soldier--don't go to waste.

This is a special case. It never should have happened.
