Taking a break to regain my energy on Oban. Had to personally prevent a riot from breaking out in the streets between the Crogs and the Nourasian Knights last week. Well, not me, per se, but the "Avatar." It's so weird having to pretend that I'm two different people: the Avatar, and the Avatar's "faithful servant". I don't know how Satis managed to ( Read more... )

Why do you have to pretend you're not the avatar?

Well, you know how I like to visit Earth a lot? If people knew that I was the Avatar, everybody would probably treat me differently. You know, because I'm god? Bowing down and worshiping me, or something. And they'd probably harass me to try and fix all their problems. Not to mention that Eva would get even more unwanted attention than she already has. It's ... complicated. So it's better if people just don't know.

I apologize for my knights' behavior, you can be assured they will be dealt with.

...Wait a second. You have a what?

((fffffffff Figures I started hiatus on almost burnout when this started. XD;;;))

It's not their fault. I mean, I can see where they're coming from. The Nourasians were pretty much enslaved by the Crogs, and now the Crogs claim they want to make reparations? It's no wonder your knights think it's a trap. They just want to protect you and your subjects. It's their duty, right?

Yeah. A clone. You know what that is, right? Found out about it a month ago. Eva met him, wrote about him in her LJ. It's ... complicated.

It is indeed their duty to serve and protect myself and my people, but their insubordination is inexcusable. I fear if we and the Crogs cannot learn to live in harmony, there will be inevitable conflict. That is the last thing I would wish for... a second invasion should things go wrong.

I do have a little knowledge of clones, though I was unaware you had one. If the story is a long one, then do not fear. I have all the time and patience in the world for a friend. I owe you an ear every once in a while, at the very least.

The Crogs are a proud warrior race. Some of them feel it is demeaning to their warrior status to basically be "apologizing" for the invasion, and serving their former captives. That's why I chose the most docile Crogs, with Kratos as their leader, to stay on Nourasia. I know they can change for the better! I've seen it with my own eyes. Teaching them farming and animal husbandry ... it's opened their eyes to an alternative way of life. I think that having them work side-by-side with the Nourasians, planting trees and repairing the damage caused by the war, will help them to better understand one another.

Well, if you really want to know the whole story, you should probably read Eva's entry and then mine. But the long and short of it is this: the Earth Coalition wants to make their cover story full-proof, and that means declaring me officially dead.

Maybe I should hook the two of you up with my own special tweaked mobile upgrade. That way, you could just send each other a text when you feel like you're being neglectful. Much less unobtrusive!

Actually ... I did something like that to Eva's phone a while back. She can call me anywhere in the galaxy, and no roaming charges!

But still, I've always been the kinda guy that prefers face-to-face conversations. I know it's the future and all, but sometimes I feel like we rely too much on computers for social interactions. But I'll just have to deal with it.

Oh ho, I've got competition, it seems. I'll have to watch out for you, you'll end up attracting all my customers.

Well, you're both busy people. Sometimes you just have to take what you can get, I suppose...

I honestly had no idea that you've done this sorta thing before! Well, actually, I probably should have expected no less from you. Always making life so convenient. And I've only done it for a couple people, like Don Wei and my mom.

Yeah. I wish that Eva could travel by my side, like Donna and Haruhi do with you, but she prefers a "normal" life on Earth. And really, I can't blame her. If it weren't for Canaletto, I'd probably be leading a normal life on Earth, too.
