Ben obviously has other stuff going on that is sooper sekrit... and he seemed rather proud of himself on the plane, so despite the beating, he won. i hope Desmond kicked his ass...

When he got beat up we were like, oh yeah, Ben hasn't been beat up in a couple months, it is time!

Last season Ben said he could never return to the island if he turned the thingymabob, so I really want to know if he actually DOES return with the rest of them.

Total guess (and probably wrong).

He went to kill Penny and was roughed up in the process.

He's already said he would kill the daughter (or is it another one?), and that would give Desmond reason to return to island - to seek Ben and revenge.

But I've truly no clue...

I love Lost, but last night was truly the lamest episode they've done. THAT's the best way they could come up with to get folks back to the island? Sheeeze....

I completely forgot that Ben seeing Desmond would be a big red flag that Penny was nearby. Maybe he did go to get revenge on Penny's dad and there was a big fight with Desmond.

Yeah, of course Penny's dad could also have been there with his goons since he sent Desmond to LA and would also know she was there. Since Ben is hated by both sides, anyone could have beat him up.

I miss you too!!! Last night, a few of my coworkers and I headed to a bar to grab a drink after work, and they were playing the last-week's-recap-slash-pop-up-video thingy on mute. I got a little panicked thinking it was this week's episode, SANS CUT! :)

I'll watch it tonight on omg.go.abc.com/crappy-non-hulu-or-netflix-player and be right there with you, champ!
