Ignore the people telling you to go into retail (hell, that's not a career) or to be a paper shuffler. People tend to assume that you need a "day job" if you want to go into the arts.

He didn't say retail, he said "Sales" which included retail.

It's not the "going into the arts" thing, it's the "eating regularly" thing my friend was trying to suggest I try.
